Splash! A child jumps right into the puddle by the rainbow
The picture is full of little details to discover and color in. There are the splashes flying through the air around the rubber boots, thick clouds just drifting apart, and of course the rainbow with its many colorful stripes. Puddle edges, blades of grass, and maybe a curious bird in the sky are also waiting to be brought to life with colored pencils or crayons.
Coloring idea: The rainbow as a color lesson
This picture is wonderful for talking about colors together. Let your child first look at which colors appear in the rainbow, then start coloring freely, with no strict order required. The rubber boots can be bright red or yellow-checkered, and the puddle can range from soft sky blue to vivid turquoise. For even more fun, you can use a damp brush to suggest a few water-splash patterns, which really brings movement into the picture.
