Early practice: The farmer milking cows in the barn
There's plenty to discover in the picture: the farmer with his milking pail, the patient cow, bales of straw in the corner, and maybe even a curious cat hoping for a sip of fresh milk. Plenty of room for little artists' hands to grab their colors and add their own ideas.
Tip for colorful barn shades
When coloring, brown and beige tones can give the cows their typical spotted pattern, while the barn can shine in warm wood brown or gentle red. The straw looks wonderful in shades of yellow, and if you like, you can give the farmer sturdy blue overalls, just like real farmers often wear. Why not tell your child along the way that milk doesn't just come from a carton, but starts out with hard-working farmers and their cows, that usually brings a little wonder to their eyes.
You can download this coloring page easily and for free, and print it out at home on standard letter size paper. Whether at the kitchen table after breakfast or on a rainy afternoon, this farm moment is sure to bring a breath of country air into the kids' room, no rubber boots required.
