Wild Stripes: A Zebra Herd Crosses the Steppe
What makes zebras so special is, of course, their stripe pattern, and that's exactly what makes coloring them so exciting. No two zebras are alike, so feel free to experiment to your heart's content. There's also wide open grass, maybe a few clouds in the sky, and plenty of room to fill the steppe with life.
Tip: Black and white doesn't always have to be just black and white
Sure, zebras usually wear black and white, but who says imagination has to follow the rules? Some kids like purple or turquoise stripes, while others prefer to stay classic and focus on the background instead. The steppe invites warm yellow and brown tones, just like dry grass in the sun. A soft blue sky and maybe a few green acacia trees at the edge round out the picture nicely.
If you like, you can come up with a little story while coloring: why is the herd heading in this direction? Are they looking for water, or has a new day of exploring just begun? You can easily download this picture for free and print it comfortably at home on a sheet of A4 paper. All you need then are some pencils, a quiet corner, and the desire for a little steppe adventure.
