Splish, splash: A gardener builds a pond
There's so much for your kids to discover and color in here. The gardener himself in his work clothes, the shovel in his hands, stones along the pond's edge, maybe even the first lily pads floating on the water, and of course the whole garden with trees, grass, and flower beds all around. There's plenty going on for little artist hands.
Tip: Make the water feel alive
The picture gets especially exciting when the pond isn't just plain blue. Feel free to mix different shades of blue and a bit of green for light reflections and algae, this makes the water look so much more real right away. The gardener's rubber boots can be bright yellow or red, which creates a lovely contrast against the rich green of the lawn. Warm colors like orange, pink, or purple work wonderfully for the flowers along the edge.
If you like, make up a little story while coloring, maybe fish or frogs will soon move into the new pond. You can download this coloring page completely free and print it out at home on A4 paper. Grab your colored pencils or crayons and let the garden bloom in your favorite colors.
