Splish, splash: mermaid children playing in shallow water
What makes this motif so special is its playful lightness. The mermaid children have sparkling fins, curly hair full of seashells, and a smile that shines right off the page. Your little ones can color the fins in shimmering shades, spot tiny fish in the background, and give the sand a warm, golden tone. There are lots of little details to discover, from water droplets to tiny shell crowns.
Tip: water doesn't have to be just blue
A nice trick when coloring water is to mix several shades of blue and even a bit of turquoise or green. This makes the shallow water look lively, and the mermaid tails can really stand out in contrasting colors like pink, purple, or orange. The mermaid children's hair can be beautifully colored in red, blonde, or even a dreamy lavender, just however your kids like it.
Maybe while coloring you can even tell a little story about how the mermaid children are searching for a seashell or having a swimming race. The picture can be downloaded for free and printed at home on A4 paper, so nothing stands in the way of a cozy afternoon with crayons.
