A scientist observes buzzing bees in the garden
Your child can design the white lab coat, the friendly bees and the many plants however they like. Perhaps they will spot a magnifying glass, a notebook or a hat for protection from the sun. The bees can be classic yellow and black, but who says a bee can’t have pink striped wings? There’s room for colorful ideas in the garden.
Coloring idea: A garden full of flower colors
For a cheerful day in the garden, a light blue sky, lush green leaves and flowers in red, purple, orange or blue are perfect. Give the bees delicate light blue or silvery gray wings, and draw little dots around them as dancing flower pollen. The scientist might be writing down which flower is especially popular with the bees—perhaps it is the giant sunflower at the edge of the picture.
You can download this coloring page for free and print it at home on A4 paper. Set out some colored pencils and make up a little story while coloring: What discovery will the scientist make today, and where will the busiest bee fly next? In no time, the garden becomes a very personal research adventure.
