Stone Art: The Sculptor and Her Roman Column
What makes this motif so special is the mix of concentration and strength. Your kids can color the sculptor's tools, the folds of her work clothes, and of course the column itself with its elaborate decorations. Scattered around might be a few chunks of stone and tools, also waiting for some color.
A wonderful picture for anyone who loves to dream themselves into other times and professions.
Tip: Work with Stone Tones
Light gray and beige tones work well for the column, reminiscent of real marble. A touch of light brown or soft ochre gives the stone extra depth, as if the sun had been shining on it for a long time. The sculptor herself can be more colorful, for example with a warm red or blue for her clothing, so she stands out nicely against the stone column.
If you like, you can invent a little story along the way: maybe the sculptor is working on a temple that will soon be finished. You can download the coloring page easily and for free and print it at home at your leisure, ideally on regular A4 paper. Then all you need is crayons or wax crayons, a cozy corner of the table, and the little studio is ready to open.
