The gnarled tree trunk to color in
That's exactly what makes this motif so exciting for little artists. Your child can really let loose without having to stick to fixed shapes, because tree bark is allowed to look a bit chaotic. Every groove, every branch, and every little circle for the growth rings becomes its own small discovery while coloring.
Tip: Experiment with shades of brown
A tree trunk is the perfect chance to try out different shades of brown. Light brown for the outer bark, dark brown or even a bit of black for the deep grooves, and if you like, dab a little green or gray moss on the side. Gray and beige tones also look lovely if you want the trunk to look more like an old oak. There's no right or wrong here, every mix tells its own little forest story.
