A Thirsty Wolf at the Clear Mountain Lake

Your children can really get into the details here. The wolf's shaggy fur, the gentle ripples on the water, and the mountains in the background offer plenty of room for imagination. Little rocks along the shore, a few blades of grass, or birds in the sky can also be wonderfully added with their own ideas, in case the crayon wants to wander off on its own path.

Tip: Use Cool Colors for Mountain Air

Different shades of blue work especially well for the lake, from light turquoise at the edges to a darker blue in the middle. That makes the water feel much more alive right away. The mountains in the background can be colored in gray or a soft lilac, which brings to mind the cool morning air in the mountains. The wolf itself can of course stay gray or brown, but a few lighter highlights in the fur are also a lot of fun to color in.

If you like, you can come up with a little story while coloring: maybe the wolf has traveled a long way through the mountains and now just needs a break by the water. You can download the coloring page for free and print it comfortably at home on A4 paper, so nothing stands in the way of a cozy coloring afternoon together.
