The Engineer at the Drawing Board: Tinkering, Gears and Big Plans
Your child can really let loose here: the drawing board with its lines and plans, the tools on the table, and of course the many gears of different sizes offer plenty of space to color. Some gears interlock, others float freely in the picture, giving your child the freedom to experiment with colors and patterns.
Coloring Idea: Give Each Gear Its Own Color
A lovely approach is to color each gear in a different shade, like a little clockwork made of colorful pieces. Metallic-looking grays and silvers suit the gears well, while the engineer himself can happily wear a bold blue coat or red overalls. The drawing board can shine in warm wooden brown, and if you like, you can add little thought-clouds or lightning bolts in the background to show just how many ideas are bubbling in the engineer's head.
