A little tip for colorful feathers
Owls don't always have to be brown. Why not color an owl in warm autumn tones, with orange and rust-red feathers, or one in soft blue and purple for a real fantasy night owl? The tree stump can stay a nice strong brown, while the moss around it adds variety in different shades of green. Little details like stars in the background or a moon quickly turn the picture into a real night-time story.
