Floating Over the Mountains in a Hot Air Balloon
For kids, a picture like this is a little paper adventure. There's the round balloon with its stripes and patterns, the basket with its tiny details, plus jagged rocks, maybe a few fir trees on the slopes, and clouds that hang in the sky like fluffy sheep. Every corner invites little hands to look closely and fill it with color.
Tip: Tell a Story with Contour Colors
A lovely trick for coloring mountains is to start with bold colors at the bottom and get lighter toward the top, almost as if the snow is getting closer. The balloon itself can be as bright as you like, red, yellow, turquoise, anything goes, since the most colorful balloons are always the first ones you spot in the sky. Maybe come up with a little story together about who's riding in the basket and where they're headed, that makes coloring even more exciting.
You can download the picture for free and print it out easily at home, ideally on regular A4 paper so it fits perfectly in any folder or looks great on the fridge door. Grab the colored pencils or crayons, spread some newspaper on the table, and the little mountain balloon ride can begin. We hope you and your kids have lots of fun coloring, and maybe you'll even discover your very own favorite mountain along the way.
