Rhino Hiding in the Tall Grass Coloring Page

Dear parents, look who's lying in wait here. Between tall blades of grass, a cheeky rhino peeks out, hoping no one will spot it. Such a big, thick-skinned animal is actually hard to miss, but in this picture it makes itself quite small. That's exactly what makes this motif so lovable for little artists.

Shhh, there's a rhino hiding here in the tall grass

Your child can discover the rhino's horn, its round ears, and the many blades of grass surrounding it. Some blades are long and pointy, others drawn rounder and softer, so there's plenty to explore. A game of hide-and-seek like this on paper invites your child to look closely and bring the grass to life with colors.

Coloring idea: A jungle full of green shades

For the grass, feel free to mix several shades of green, from light spring green to dark pine green. This creates depth and almost looks like a little jungle. The rhino itself can be colored gray or soft brown, perhaps with a few lighter patches where the sun shines through the grass. If you like, you can add little bugs or flowers between the blades, since a good hiding spot always has plenty of neighbors.

Maybe you can come up with a little story together about why the rhino is hiding. Is it playing hide-and-seek with a friend, or does it just like watching the birds without being seen? You can download the coloring page for free and print it comfortably at home on A4 paper. All you need then are some crayons, a quiet moment, and the transformation from blank paper into a green hiding spot can begin.
